Adie Bishop was born April Coleman in Raleigh County, West Virginia. Born weighing only one pound, eleven ounces, Adie is one of the last of her generation to have been diagnosed with retrolental fibroplasias (ROP, retinopathy of prematurity), and due to such had her right eye enucleated at one and a half years of age. Unknown to most, she is legally blind and unable to drive.
She is also an indigo.
She was raised in the rural coal camp of Whitby, West Virginia and attended the local schools in Coal City, West Virginia, obtaining good grades throughout school, various awards and honors, including being rewarded the only art pin in her entire graduating junior high class.
She attended Concord College (now Concord University) in Athens, West Virginia, studying English Literature with an emphasis on writing, and art. She left Concord, got married, divorced and bought her own home, and then remarried. She currently resides in Fort Knox, Kentucky with her husband, a Captain in the U.S. Army, their daughter, her mother-in-law and four spoiled cats.
She is the author of nine books: Search 26; Tie Rose…and Other Works; I Heart New York (and Other Fan Fiction); In the Stars (series); Rock A Bye; Dancing with Strangers; and Eros, and is a member of The Romance Writers of America.
